This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (com.buddyhelp.buddyhelpapp).

To provide our marketplace services to both Service Seekers (Clients) and Service Providers (Doers), we collect the following types of data:

Account & Profile Information

We collect your name, email address, phone number, and profile details such as your bio and interests.

Verification Data (For Providers)

To build community trust, we collect identification documents, certifications, and licenses for the purpose of issuing a “Verified Trust Badge”.

User Content

This includes job descriptions, photos uploaded for job posts, and messages exchanged through our in-app chat system.

Location Data

We collect precise location coordinates to pin jobs on maps and match users in real-time.

Payment Information

Payment processing is handled securely via Stripe. We do not store your full credit card details on our servers.

Device & Usage Data

We collect information including your IP address, device model, operating system, and unique device identifiers (e.g., Android ID, Advertising ID) to monitor app performance and prevent fraud.

2. Prominent Disclosure: Location Usage

Background Location Access

Doerly requires access to your location to function effectively.

Background Location: Our app accesses your location in the background (even when the app is closed or not in use) to enable Live Tracking during active jobs. This allows Service Seekers to see the real-time arrival of their Provider and ensures safety for both parties.

  • Purpose: Matching nearby profiles, pinning job locations, and providing transparent proof of service through our tracking features.
  • Control: You can enable or disable location permissions at any time through your device settings.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected data to:

  • Manage your dual-mode account (Client and Provider).
  • Facilitate job bidding, hiring, and real-time communication.
  • Process secure payments and payouts via Stripe.
  • Track work hours via the “Smart Work Timer” for transparent billing.
  • Maintain community safety through profile verification and two-way reviews.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. Sharing occurs only as necessary for the service:

With Other Users: Limited profile data (name, ratings, bio) is shared with potential matches to facilitate hiring.

Service Providers: We share data with third-party vendors, such as Stripe for payments and cloud hosting providers, who are contractually obligated to protect your data.

Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.

5. Camera Usage

Purpose & Control of Camera Permissions

Our app requires camera access to allow you to:

  • Take photos of tasks or items requiring repair.
  • Upload profile pictures.
  • Submit identity documents for verification.

We only access the camera when you actively trigger a photo-related feature.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your personal data only as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services.

Account Deletion:You may request to delete your account and all associated data at any time through the “Edit Personal Information” section in your profile or by contacting us directly.

Right to Erasure: Upon account deletion, we will remove your personal information from our active databases, subject to legal retention requirements for financial records (e.g., Stripe transaction logs).

7. Security

We implement administrative and technical security measures, including encryption, to protect your data. While we strive for 100% security, no digital transmission is entirely impenetrable.

8. Children’s Privacy

Doerly is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from individuals under 18.
